The Revitalized Editor

Back from a great weekend of hiking and c-c-c-c-c-c-c-camping (yes, it was freakin' cold). The sun was shining except for a brief period when it snowed. That almost sent me home early. Thank goodness I remembered the Jack.

The lake was beautiful, and I spent some time reflecting on the new year. I still think this year is going to be a fabulous one, and creative muses are going to be working overtime. By the way, that stick is not up my ass...just an optical illusion.

What is it with your generation's abhorrence to wearing long pants?

It's freaking January! Put on some pants!

Nice calves, by the way.

Nik,
What do you mean, my generation? I think I may have a few years on you, my dear. Thanks for the kind words. And you'll be happy to know I am wearing pants today.

Camping in the cold. Hmm. No thanks. Looks like it was good for you, tho. (g)

Rinda,

Yes, it was. It really wasn't that cold...just kept the fire going all night. Don't y'all camp up there in OK?

Rinda Elliott said...

Sure. A lot of people do--even Okies. (g) Not this one, though. I don't even know what a free weekend is like these days.

I wouldn't mind--when it's warmer, of course--taking a weekend to camp with just the hubby. That would be nice. Especially in the eastern part of OK.

Hi

If you think your weekend was cold, go and have a look at my blog. I've put my weekend pics on (just scroll past all that German blabla, right down to the pics).

Thanks for visiting :-)

I've just spent a week in another blog. Bought the right to write there on e-bay - for about a dollar :-) Had heaps of fun and hope I didn't ruin the guy's blog. He's kind of a philosopher and I'm more down to earth. Well ...

Zap (with a cold - not from hiking; my daughter brought it home from school, didn't even cost a dollar, was for free - thanks a lot)

I'm 41. Yeah, yeah...I don't look it. I bathe in the blood of virgin kittens and all that but I feel it.

Well, I'm right there with you...did you think I was younger? Bless you. I wouldn't have guessed yours either, so we're even. I prefer the blood of a virgin tomato, myself.

Yeah, I thought you were late twenties, early thirties.

I'm not very good with age, frankly. I used to think everyone was my age but since I've gotten cranky, I think everybody is younger than I am. Ya dang blasted whippersnappers!

Cranky...I hear ya. Sounds like a platform for a story to me, Nik.

Hi,

I've been on vacation, and I saw you found a nice camping spot on a lake (where's the pic?). Love it.
We were in Miami. It was too hot for my taste, and there were too many shopping-malls (though my wife would disagree). My wife is not much of a camper. *sigh* I hope my son grows up fast.

luc2,

Thanks for stopping in. I hope your time off was good. This pic is from Centerhill Lake, which is about an hour east of Nashville. Miami is nice, but I agree with you concerning both the temp and the malls.

Don't wish for that kid to grow up too fast, 'cause it'll happen in the blink of an eye. My youngest is a Freshmen, and I remember changing her diapers like it was (insert your favorite cliché here).
